Pol.Gen. Surachet Hakpal, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, held a meeting at Bo Phut Police Station, Koh Samui, Surat Thani, to follow up on a progress of the case of the international school teacher in Koh Samui who has been accused of molesting a kindergarten pupil.
Based on the statement given by the victim, the accused touched his genitals several times between August and November 2022, leading to an arrest with a warrant on a charge of committing an indecent act on a child not yet over fifteen years of age and committing child abuse physically or mentally, of which the accused plead not guilty. On 6 January 2023, the case’s inquiry officer submitted an opinion recommending prosecution to a public prosecutor. To date, the accused has been held in custody according to the court’s order. .
Because of its sensitive nature, Pol.Gen. Surachet instructed officers in charge to thoroughly gather evidences and investigate all concerned witnesses without bias.
